What is the application deadline? The deadline for applications to the next workshop to be held December 8-12, 2014 in Rome has been extended until Wednesday 1st October, 2014. While it is possible that applications may continue to be accepted after that date, those seeking financial assistance are urged to apply as soon as possible and no later than the deadline.

When will I receive a response to my application?
Approximately one week after the application deadline.

What is the tuition fee?
Those who are able to afford it are asked to pay the full tuition cost for the one-week workshop of $1,500.00, so as to help cover the cost of the program.  But tuition is automatically waived for all applicants from the host country, and tuition waivers are available to applicants from elsewhere on an individual basis. Alumni of past workshops are eligible to apply for tuition waivers.

Are travel fees and hotel costs included in the cost of tuition?
No. Those who are able to afford it are asked to be responsible for their own travel and housing, so as to reduce the overall cost of the program.  But partial or full financial assistance is available to applicants to cover these expenses. Alumni of past workshops may not receive financial assistance for their travel and housing for workshops which are taking place in the same and/or following calendar years.

Is financial assistance available?
Yes, financial assistance to cover tuition and/or travel expenses such as long distance travel and accommodation, is available.

How can I apply for financial assistance?
If you are seeking need-based financial assistance, please include a one-page statement justifying your request, including the amount you are requesting.   This statement must be submitted with your application.  Please see the online application.

What is the application deadline for financial assistance?
The deadline for application for financial assistance is the same as that for the application generally.  The deadline for application to the next workshop to be held December 8-12, 2014 in Rome is Wednesday 1st October, 2014. While it is possible that applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis after that date, those seeking financial assistance are urged to apply as soon as possible and no later than the deadline.

When will I receive a response to my request for financial assistance?
Approximately one week after the application deadline.

Over and above learning the material, are there added benefits for Workshop participants?
Yes.  An important benefit in addition to the learning is the networking opportunity, including becoming part of an alumni network which we encourage participants to help develop.  One of the benefits of the alumni network is continuing access to the provenance research community website (currently under construction) providing important research tools, databases, a steadily growing digital library, and access to other useful sources of information.

Do you have a specific form for my references to use?
No. However, your letters of reference must be on letterhead and must be signed.  Those who recommend you as an attendee/participant should explain why they think you are a good candidate for the PRTP Workshop. The letters may be sent via email or uploaded as part of submitting the on-line application in the PDF format.

If I apply and am not successful, may I apply for future participation in another PRTP Workshop?
Yes. You are welcome to apply for attendance at future PRTP workshops.
